What's actually included in the fare
Your base fare covers the stateroom, all rotational dining (main dining rooms and the buffet), entertainment, youth clubs, and most beach access at the private islands, including the BBQ lunch. That's genuinely a lot — more all-inclusive than most mainstream cruise lines. But gratuities, specialty dining, alcohol, Wi-Fi, spa services, and excursions are all separate, and none of them show up in the sticker price you book against.
Where the extra spending actually goes
Gratuities. Disney's recommended standard gratuity is $16.00 per person, per night, covering your stateroom host and dining team. Concierge staterooms and suites recommend $27.25 per person, per night. For a family of four on a 7-night sailing in a standard stateroom, that's roughly $448 in gratuities alone — easy to overlook if you're only budgeting the fare. Specialty dining. Palo (or Palo Steakhouse on the newer ships) is typically about $55 per person for brunch or dinner on U.S. sailings. Remy and Enchanté run higher, as fine-dining venues with a prix-fixe format. A gratuity is added separately to these bills, on top of the meal price.
Wi-Fi. Free basic connectivity covers iMessage, WhatsApp, and the Navigator app. Paid packages are commonly around ~$30 per device, per day for internet and ~$49 for internet + streaming — confirm live prices in the Disney Cruise Line app, since packages change. Compare tiers: Wi-Fi packages.
Alcohol. Individual drinks often run $10–15 (signature pours can cost more) plus an automatic 18% gratuity. Same bring-aboard rule as the FAQ: since June 2026, guests 21+ may bring one unopened bottle of wine or champagne (750 ml or less) or six beers (12 oz or less) — not both — in carry-on at embarkation only. Alcohol bought ashore is held until the end of the cruise. Dining-room corkage on your own wine is typically $20 per bottle.
Excursions. Disney's own Port Adventures range from roughly $50 to $300+ per person depending on the activity — a real budget swing depending on how many stops you book activities at.
