How themed sailings work
Halloween, Very Merrytime, Marvel Day at Sea, and Pixar Day at Sea are overlays on select sailings — not separate tickets. You book a normal cruise on an eligible date; the theming is included. High-demand holiday weeks sell out early, and Castaway Club booking windows still control when you can reserve cabanas, dining, and Port Adventures.
- Activity windows: same Castaway Club calendar as any other sailing — booking window helper.
- Final payment: still due on Disney’s timeline before most online activity booking — deposit & final payment.
- Packing: costumes are optional but common on Halloween / Very Merrytime — see the Halloween packing section and Pirate Night guide.
Marvel Day at Sea
Marvel Day at Sea returns on the Disney Magic for 4- and 5-night Western Caribbean itineraries out of Galveston, Texas starting January 2026 — the first time this event sails from Galveston (Magic has hosted Marvel Day on other itineraries since 2017). Over 30 heroes and villains appear across the day, including Spider-Man, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Thor, Loki, and Black Panther — plus a USO-style tribute show honoring Captain America in Fathoms and warrior training with Okoye in the atrium. The day builds to a deck party themed around a clash between heroes and villains.
Book early if Marvel is the reason you’re sailing — these dates are easy to miss once verandah inventory thins out. Confirm your specific voyage is labeled Marvel Day at Sea in Disney’s booking tools before you deposit.
Pixar Day at Sea
Pixar Day at Sea returns on the Disney Fantasy only — select 5-night Bahamian itineraries from Port Canaveral, Florida, stopping at Nassau, Castaway Cay, and/or Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Expect appearances from beloved Pixar characters throughout the day, capped off with a Pixar Pals Celebration deck party in the evening. Confirm your specific voyage is labeled Pixar Day at Sea in Disney’s booking tools before you deposit.
A highlight for Toy Story fans is Woody’s Roundup Breakfast — Disney’s official name is Hey Howdy Breakfast with Woody and Friends — at Animator’s Palate. Themed to Woody’s Roundup from Toy Story 2, it features Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye plus a cowboy guitarist and sing-alongs. Complimentary with the cruise, but reservation-required (~30 days out; book the moment your window opens). It’s not offered on Dream, Wish-class, or other ships. Details and fun facts on the Fantasy ship guide.
Halloween on the High Seas & Very Merrytime Cruises
Halloween on the High Seas runs on select September–October sailings across the fleet — Pumpkin Tree lighting, Mickey’s Mouse-querade, trick-or-treating, seasonal menus, and Halloween character costumes. Destiny joins the celebration for 2026; full rundown: Halloween on the Destiny.
Very Merrytime Cruises bring holiday theming to U.S.-based DCL ships in the winter season — tree lightings, holiday characters, and festive entertainment layered onto regular itineraries. Treat these like peak holiday demand: book earlier than a random January sailing, and expect higher fares around Christmas and New Year’s weeks.
Bluey & Bingo
Bluey and Bingo appear on select domestic sailings aboard the Disney Dream (Fort Lauderdale since Feb 2026), Disney Wish (Port Canaveral from June 2026), and returning Disney Wonder (San Diego from October 2026). Expect Wakey Wakey, meet-and-greets, Who’s Behind the Curtain?, Keepy Uppy / Ground is Lava, crafts, and a Pyjama Party — European itineraries are excluded. Full rundown: Bluey on Disney Cruise Line in 2026.
What isn't currently running
Star Wars Day at Sea has run on Disney Cruise Line in the past and is frequently requested by fans, but is not part of the confirmed 2026 lineup as of this writing. Worth verifying current availability before booking a sailing specifically for it.
