Castaway Cay is Disney Cruise Line's private island in the Bahamas, and the ship docks directly at a pier — no tender boat required, which means faster, easier access than most cruise-line private islands. The island is split into three beach areas: two family beaches (connected by tram and walking paths) and Serenity Bay, reserved for guests 18 and older. The water throughout is shallow and calm, protected by a breakwater, which makes it easy and safe for young kids.
A complimentary BBQ lunch is served at both the family beaches and Serenity Bay between roughly 11:30am and 2:00pm — grilled chicken, burgers, hot dogs, fish, and sides, with non-alcoholic drinks included. You never have to return to the ship for lunch, though the option is there if you'd rather.

- Pelican Plunge — a free floating inflatable water play structure just off the family beach
- Snorkeling in the designated lagoon (bring your own gear, or rent equipment for a fee) — includes sunken Disney-themed props

Cabanas
Castaway Cay has roughly 20–21 family beach cabanas plus about six adult cabanas at Serenity Bay — roughly 325 square feet each, with lounge chairs, a hammock, a stocked cooler, and complimentary snorkel gear. Family beach cabanas run roughly $450–600/day; Serenity Bay cabanas start around $600+/day. They're genuinely worth it for a large group wanting guaranteed shade and privacy, but they sell out within minutes of the booking window opening — typically 75 days before sailing for the general public, earlier for higher Castaway Club tiers.
