What's different here
Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point sits on a peninsula on the southern tip of Eleuthera — not a fully private island like Castaway Cay, but a privately controlled section of a larger, inhabited island. Disney purchased the property in 2019 and opened it to guests in June 2024. Where Castaway Cay leans into classic Disney character theming, Lookout Cay is built around Bahamian culture, art, and conservation, including a Goombay Cultural Center celebrating Junkanoo traditions.
One real difference worth knowing before you go: Castaway Cay's beaches sit behind a breakwater, so the water is calm and sheltered. Lighthouse Point's beaches are unsheltered, so conditions can be more variable — often beautiful, but worth checking conditions if you're planning to swim with young kids.
Beaches and activities
- Mabrika Cove — the main family beach, stretching the length of the common area

Cabanas
Twenty premium family cabanas are available near the family beach, including four double cabanas for larger groups with massage service add-ons. Six additional adult cabanas are available at Serenity Bay. As with Castaway Cay, these book up fast once the reservation window opens. Lookout Cay is Disney’s newest Bahamas day — bigger beaches and culture-forward design. Castaway Cay is still the easier classic for snorkelers and little kids. Side-by-side breakdown:
Planning tips
- The ship docks at an open-trestle pier (Turbot Berth) connected to shore by roughly a half-mile walkway — budget extra time to get to the beach compared to Castaway Cay's shorter walk
- This is still a newer port than Castaway Cay, so expect the experience to keep evolving as Disney adds facilities
- Some 7-night itineraries stop at both Lookout Cay and Castaway Cay on the same sailing
