Disney Cruise Line is officially sailing out of New York City again. On August 25, 2026, DCL unveiled its Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 itineraries — and the headline for Northeast families is the Disney Wish returning to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal for a short fall season of Bermuda, Canada, and New England cruises, many dressed up for Halloween on the High Seas.
It’s the first time Disney has home-ported in NYC since the Disney Dream ran a handful of Bermuda and Eastern Canada sailings in fall 2023. Before that, New York was always an occasional call — never a year-round hub like Port Canaveral. This return is deliberately small and seasonal, but for anyone within driving distance of the city, it removes the Florida flight from the equation.

The social-media tease ahead of the announcement — coordinate clues pointing at NYC and Bermuda — turned out to be exactly that. Disney is pairing a driveable Northeast embark with classic Atlantic itineraries and a ship families already know.
Why the Disney Wish?
The Wish is Disney’s first Wish-class ship (2022) and still one of the fleet’s newest U.S.-based vessels. For NYC guests who haven’t sailed Wish-class yet, you’re getting:
- Grand Hall with a three-story atrium statue (Wish uses a Cinderella-forward design)
- Disney Uncharted Adventure — the free Navigator-app scavenger hunt (how it works)
- AquaMouse water coaster and the adults-only Quiet Cove pool district
- Rotational dining across three main restaurants, plus Palo and Enchanté for adults
Compare Wish-class perks across the fleet in our ship chooser guide if you’re weighing NYC against a Florida sailing on Disney Destiny or Disney Treasure.
Who should book an NYC sailing?
- Northeast and Mid-Atlantic families who want to skip the flight to Florida
- Bermuda fans — the 5- and 6-night options lean heavily on King’s Wharf
- Leaf-peepers and history buffs — Canada & New England ports in peak fall color season
- Halloween lovers — multiple October sailings overlap with Halloween on the High Seas (pack a soft costume; see our packing list)
- Combo cruisers — the one-way Bermuda-to-San Juan sailing opens a longer trip if you want Caribbean time after the Atlantic leg
When to book — and what to grab first
Disney’s rollout follows the usual Castaway Club ladder:
- August 31, 2026 — early booking for eligible Castaway Club members (tier and prior-sailing rules apply)
- September 8, 2026 — general public booking on disneycruise.com
NYC seasons are limited — expect popular October dates and verandah categories to move fast. If you’re new to the timing, read Castaway Club and booking & cost FAQ before August 31.
After you book: connect your sailing in My Cruise planner, join a sailing community thread for your ship and date, and set reminders for Port Adventure and specialty-dining windows in our booking windows tool.
What else dropped in the same announcement?
The Fall 2027 / Spring 2028 release wasn’t only NYC. Other highlights cruisers are talking about:
- Disney Destiny home-porting in Port Canaveral for fall 2027 Bahamas and Western Caribbean sailings
- More San Juan departures and Panama Canal repositioning cruises with new ports
- Disney Adventure adding Langkawi, Malaysia as its first port of call on select Singapore sailings — see Adventure vs Wish-class
